The works around the Singapore circuit – which held its first Grand Prix in 2008 – are for redevelopment of the Float at Marina Bay into 'NS Square', a new community and events venue. They are set to start in March and expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

This time, hotel billionaire and business mogul Ong Beng Seng is the name behind the 2022 Singapore Grand Prix. The Singapore Tourism Board has also reportedly contributed to securing the deal for hosting a Formula 1 Grand Prix in Singapore for another seven years through 2028.
